Cabin in Thorenc
December 2022. With our family, Pierre & Nancy, Tonio’s brother Sebastien, his wife Maïna, their two boys Noé and Nils, along with Maïna’s dad Gilles and brother Jérémy, we all stayed 5 days / 4 nights in a cabin in the mountains before Christmas. It was fun to spend time together.

I leave you with a little prayer from a book called Every Moment Holy. At first I didn’t understand the reference to war, but after talking with Tonio, we came to see that sometimes choosing joy and enjoyment over the negative and pain can be battles of their own.
To gather joyfully is indeed a serious affair,
for feasting and all enjoyments gratefully taken are,
at their heart, acts of war…
…the joy of fellowship, and the welcome
and comfort of friends new and old,
and the celebration of these blessings of
food and drink and conversation and laughter
are the true evidences of things eternal,
and are the first fruits of that great glad joy
that is to come and that will be unending.
