Austria 2022
Every August, we have the joy of returning to the place where me and Tonio met in 2009. It’s been so fun to make it a family tradition. It’s basically family camp at a castle in Austria next to an incredible lake with a bunch of other people who love Jesus!!! It’s the best. Enjoy this year’s trip below.
We stayed at a lovely hotel with an incredible breakfast. If you’re ever vactioning in Millstatt, Austria, check this place out Pesentheinerhof.
He looks like a giant above a tiny excavator.
Reconnecting with friends. Daphné is such a good friend to others. We love Vivia and Scout.
Worshiping Jesus together.
This boy is almost 5, and he has NEVER liked swings. Well, that all changed for some reason. We couldn’t keep him off of them.
A friend of ours took this fun picture and touched it up a bit. We are in our happy place.
I love this little pirate.
Daphné soaking in inspiration for her art.
Cucumber man.
Daphné swinging with a friend at our hotel.
I got to lead worship with Tonio one morning. The joy on my face is legit. God is so good and worthy to be praised. Always.
At the end of day two, fatigue had set in, so we took the night off, and I went on a McDonald’s run. The GPS sent me back a super cool route through fields and forests. Fed my soul.
Dirt roads and everything.
Wednesday is boat day, going for some tubing with my girl.
Me, Daphné and Vivia with a blue Austrian mountain sky.
Me and Daphné are the bookends in this gaggle of giggling and screaming girls. I definitely lost my voice for a little bit from screaming and laughing so hard.
This is Yann and Jérôme from our church in Nice. It was so great to have them come experience the Austria conference with us. Yann has helped with worship, as has Jérôme’s wife. And Jérôme has also helped with the high school group, which Yann was a part of. They are a blessing to our church family, and they sure did have fun tubing.
Daphné went one more time with 3 other girls. I was sitting in the boat taking pictures and videos.
The lake creates such wonder.
Jumping off the dock into bliss.
Card sharks with the big boys.
I love this moment with Daphodil!
Rock climbing bud.
Funny face and “Mount Everest.”
My shadow and the castle tower.
Sunsets are magnificent here.
Photobooth. Haha.
Here’s a little walk down memory lane. The above photo is from 2009 when we met. And below is from this year, 2022. So, we’ve known each other for 13 years, and been married almost 12 years (October 30th, 2010 was our wedding day). So thankful for this man.
I always love learning new worship songs.
Family photo. Yes, this will most likely be our Christmas card. So, if you’re on our list, you can expect one before February 2023, Lord willing and the crick don’t rise.
Friendships. I think really that’s what this place is all about.
Super fun interactive “get-to-know-you” BINGO night.
Daphné won some candy. You can see Django in the background being held by Olivia, one of his many fans.
In this picture, you can see Django held by Olivia’s sister, Rachel, another one in Django’s fan club. He seriously was always swarmed by girls. So funny.
And this is at a rest stop on the drive home. Bye bye Austria. See you next year.
Back to the humidity. I love this face.
The lighting was so crazy. This picture doesn’t do it justice.
Our friends Riley, Bhritney, Atticus, Scout and Athen came to visit us in Nice after Austria. We love you guys so much. Thanks for blessing us. Riley is the pastor of a church in the Seattle area Calvary Fellowship.
And that concudes another fun Austria in August blog post. Thank you Jesus for the family we have in you. Life can be hard and messy, but it’s so great to know we’re in this together.
Love Linz
