A month of water and weddings and mountains and birthdays…. Ready, set, GO!!!
Daphné did a week of swim lessons, and Django and I got to swim in the little pool while we waited for her.
Then one day, I swam laps in the big pool in the lane just next to Daphné’s swim class. She was so proud.

A day with some old friends of Tonio’s, Edgar and Thomas. You met Edgar in the July post. Thomas and Tonio did their first years of university together.

Me and Tonio were honored to lead worship during the ceremony, and Tonio officiated the wedding. A fun side note is that Daphné took this picture. I was impressed.
This fountain was such a relief to the heat.
And here we are at another wedding. I, again, was blessed to be able to lead worship, while Tonio officiated. Aren’t these parasols fun?! Such a great idea for the guests on a hot day.

Since we stayed the night in this little village, I took my people exploring. Daphné’s face gives you a gauge of her attitude-ometer this particular morning. Django’s just stoked to be wearing his shoes that look like taxi cabs. Haha!
Since our annual retreat in Austria was cancelled this summer, we decided to take a little family vacay up to the mountains with Papi and Mamie. This is at the retreat center where we have had our church retreats for years.

We also celebrated Rob’s birthday. He was born August 12th - Django August 21st. The kids were having so much fun with Rob attacking him with this frog.
After Daphné’s last horseback riding lesson, she and I had a mama-daughter lunch date. Nothing like cold bubbly on a crazy-hot day.

This was the day before school started. I was so thankful to be able to get the kids out for one last hoorah.
By the time I finish all the captions to the pictures and get down here, I wonder if anyone actually made it down here with me. Haha. If you did, thanks again for enjoying some more windows into the Petrignani life. I never want to take one of these moments for granted; each day, hour, minute, second is a gift the Lord. He is so good. All the time. No matter what is happening in this crazy world. Next post will be September, school starts!
