Carnaval and good friends

Enjoy some snapshots of most of the month of February. Carnaval is a big deal here in Nice, but I have never actually gone to any event in town. It’s not really my thing, but I LOVE dressing up and going to the kids’ school to help with their carnaval and confetti celebration before the 2 week school break. Mixed in here are some pictures of some precious people in our lives too.

These guys braved the midde of the night to watch the Superbowl together in Cannes. We love Edgar. He is the only one of Tonio’s French friends that came to our wedding in California back in 2010. He is a faithful friend, we all love hanging out with the kids too (<—just not in the middle of the night).

I couldn’t pass up this photo opportunity. We are in the process of getting my paperwork together to ask for my French nationality.

Daphné riding Atari.

Leading worship with Anne-Laure. It was my first Sunday back after my surgery.

Papi and Mamie helped make this kid’s robot dream a reality! Thank you guys!

Daphné holds up Django’s robot, and it looks like she is decorated too.

Tonio was invited to teach at another church in Nice one Sunday, so I accompanied him. The family we have in God is so amazing!

Daphné was invited to another birthday party at the laser games place. It was for Giulia who is in the middle with the tan top and dark skirt.

Our neighbor has a doggie, and Daphné sent her a message asking if we could come walk around the residence with her and Gaby. She was home, and the kids were on cloud nine! Thank you Eileen!

These two gems, Maki and Ave, are my mama rocks here in Nice. We have been friends since 2016 when our kids were still small. We represent Japan, the US and Estonia, and I’m so thankful for their friendship. Love you girls. Thank you for my pre-birthday brunch and bouquet.

Carnaval at the kids school! Here is Clementine, Nicholas, me and Marlène. We helped down in the courtyard with pre-school to 7th grade (which is called 5ème here). We served cakes, drinks and candy to celebrate the last day of school before the 2-week winter vacation.

Upstairs with the 8th and 9th graders was Stavri, Benoît and Katerina. I’m so thankful to be a part of such a fun parent association.

The perks of being in the association is that I get to see my kids at school!!! Here is Django our little astronaut. Tonio made him this cool helmet - he was stoked!

My horseback rider and astronaut - loves these two so much! As you can see, there’s a little bit of confetti on the ground.

Django with his good friend Lorenzo as a Ninjago.

Django with his amazing teacher, Madame GIMEL. We are so thankful for her.

Daphné getting bombed with confetti.

Daphné with her teacher Monsieur LOTTIER. She had him for first grade and now again in 3rd, and she LOVES being in his class. We are so blessed by the incredible teaching staff here.

Django also has Monsieur LOTTIER a couple days a week for reading.

Daphné’s good friend Eden came over to play on Saturday. Here they are playing Clue.

Decorating eggs.

On Sunday, we had our Agape feast. Everyone brings something to share. It is always so much fun to eat as a “family.”

Gor and Diego ham it up in line for food.

My baguette-eating monster.

Barb and I show off our outfits. My pink pants are always a conversation piece. Haha. I love it!

Do you remember the Ninjago from Carnaval above? Well, here is Lorenzo, unmasked. He came over for an afternoon to play with Django.

I organized a treasure hunt for them as requested by Django, and here they eat their loot.

Daphné enjoyed having another student in her class. Haha!!! A teacher at heart. She can be so patient.

Daphné found a new friend at horse lessons. This cute little puppy is named Undra. She is so sweet with the best loose puppy skin.

Thanks for stopping by. Love Linz
