Celebrating 12 years
Five months later, we finally had a chance to properly celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. October 30, 2022 marked 12 years of being married to this French man. We are so thankful to be able to leave for 3 days, thanks to Tonio’s amazing parents Pierre and Nancy taking care of our kids. Thank you guys!
And now, without further ado, enjoy these photos that capture us truly unplugging and relaxing and enjoying each other! It’s great that we like each other. Haha!
We couldn’t check into our hotel until later, so we chillaxed on the beach and ate lunch. We decided to revisit Hyères, where we came for our 11th wedding anniversary. We tried out a new hotel this time.
The view from our hotel room. Not too shabby. The hotel is on a miniature lake, and across the street is the Mediterranean Sea.
Commence unwinding.
Looks like we’re on a boat, but we’re just in the main lobby.
They had mini golf, so we had to have a round. It felt like we were dating again. So fun!
There were 12 holes. I had 44. Tonio had 37. At first, I was like, “Wait, how did I win?! You golfed better than me!” And Tonio was like, “Linz, in golf, the winner has the lower score.” Hahaha!!!
Super concentrated.
Now, the surfaces were concrete and bumpy and cracked in some places. It was definitely not about accuracy, but we had a blast!
The hotel had a private beach for their mini lake. If it was warmer, we may have enjoyed some sun in those lawn chairs.
A laurel tree. I took this picture in honor of our Daphodil. Daphné means “laurels.” I love it in relation to the crown of laurels given to champions back in the day. We sure won when our precious girl was born. Thank you God for her life.
We wanted to take this beauty out for a spin, but it was super cloudy the next day and just weren’t feeling it. Goals. One day =).
It almost looks like we’re on a tropical island. Haha!
Morning view.
Morning face after a WHOLE night of sleep without being awakened by a child coughing or going pee or having a bad dream. Big sigh of relief and gratitude.
Reading God’s word on the balcony. Bliss.
There’s our hotel from across the street, walking along the sea.
Wearing sandals for the first time this year for me.
How great are these chairs?!
We walked to the port. One of my favorite things is to read all the different names of the boats. Some are boring, but some are super clever and comical.
He probably cracked a joke with his fake French accent.
We found Tonio’s boat.
We really liked this one. From the Royal Navy.
Another view of our hotel. It’s kind of like a cruise ship.
One of my favorite parts of staying in any hotel is breakfast! I usually go back for seconds, sometimes thirds.
Driving home we stopped for a little break. Across the bay is Saint Tropez.
I’m so thankful for this man. I love doing life with him. Just think we get to do this again in 7 months! Yay!!!
Love Linz
