Turin, Italy - March 2024

The kids had been asking for a while to go visit our friends Dave and Denae in Turin. I think the Great Dane Lola was probably the main draw, but we did it. It was a lot of fun.

The benefits to driving is that packing can look like this, a smorgasbord of bags.

Arrived safely. It’s about 3.5 hours away from Nice. Daphné and Lola reunited again.

Django wanted to play a game with Denae, Miss fun and games herself.

Tug-o-war.

Movie time.

Poor Denae was so sick the whole time, but we still had fun lounging with her.

So sweet.

Creating.

Taking Lola for a walk.

It was so beautiful this walk along the Po River.

Chilly winter mornings.

Sunshine selfie with the river in the background.

The Po River looks like mud or chocolate, it’s all about perspective really.

Peace out.

Workout in the park.

Sibling swing time.

The squirrels were literally eating out of her hand.

Car Museum.

Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile

Trust fall seating. These things were so relaxing once you learned to trust that it was impossible to fall over backwards.

Rocket man.

A French car. I told the kids I would take their picture in front of any car they really liked.

Django liked it too.

Fiat’s first front-engined car from 1901.

Another French automobile. So fancy.

This whole scene made me think of the movie cars and the old granny car named Lizzie.

When cars fly.

G.I. Django.

I liked this one. It reminded me of an electric guitar.

Wooden mock up.

This mini van made me giggle.

A tiny world through little holes in one of the walls.

VW Bus

He likes fast cars.

Incredible machinery.

Mesmerized.

Utopia.

Pagani.

Lancia. This was his favorite, and Tonio said it was most likely because it’s half robot.

Electric airplane technology.

They look like little toy cars to me. So cute. It’s even smiling.

Electric cars.

More squirrels on the walk home.

Lola in her sweatshirt.

Our sleeping quarters.

Snuggles with the kids is what I cherish most from this trip. We had to stay quiet in the mornings, so we made the most of snuggle time.

Look mom, no hands!

Ta-da! Lola enjoys the show.

Another beautiful walk in God’s creation with the kids and Lola.

We can see the city through the trees a bit.

Love these kids so much.

Looks like fall, but it’s just the end of winter.

View from Dave and Denae’s balcony.

Legit Italian pizza, requested by Daphné.

More snuggles.

Look at that face. I just love him so much.

Another walk with Lola along the river.

Saying good-bye to Dave, Denae and Lola. We love you guys. We’ll come back with Tonio one of these days.

This picture was requested by Daphné to show how tall Lola is while standing.

I love this girl. She is such a gift to me. It’s amazing to have another Calvary Chapel so close to us. Denae is that friend that I can text with a quick, “Can you pray for me right now because…” Same time zone bonus baby! I love you! Get better. Stop coughing. Ha!

I hoped you enjoyed our Turin trip. It was short and sweet, Monday to Thursday, but we had a blast.

Love Linz
